#MCRFW13 Update: Exciting Developments!

The plus side to my disappearance these last two months is that I have TONS of hot Manchester Fashion Week goss' to fill you in with! ... Every cloud right??

The one I am most excited about sharing is of course the addition of NET-A-PORTER.COM 's own Kirsty Attwood as the MCRFW team's new Head of Fashion! With a decade of experience working alongside some of the most high-profile and luxurious brands in the world, teamed with her influential decision making with sales teams, her success with the Studio Services department at Selfridges London, and the fact she has owned her own womenswear brand Kirstmairie which attracted a number of celebrity clients, she will almost certainly be ensuring this MCRFW will be a show to remember! (I told you it was good..)

With such a wide variety of experience it is evident that Attwood has a lot to bring to the MCRFW table, her experience within design will enable her to relate to those featured in the show and her background in sales, management, and business as a whole means she has the creative vision and strategical know-how to make her a force to be reckoned with!

Kirsty now plans to utilise this experience to cement MCRFW as an integral part of the Fashion industries events calender:

"The inspiration behind MCRFW offers such a foundation to this companies structure it has huge potential to have an integral and impact-full contribution to the industry as a whole, over the next year I hope to build those relationships to not only establish the industries professionals based in the north but give a platform to new talent" Kirsty Attwood, MCRFW Head of Fashion

Kirsty Attwood, hard at work for #MCRFW13

Attwood is most certainly making her mark revealing that this years Fashion Show will take place in Manchester's National Football Museum on April 22nd-26th - mark your diaries now ladies!

The choice of venue could not capture Manchester's proud legacy more, combining its two great loves... Football and Fashion! It is a city that has produced some of the finest athletes and most iconic designers in the country so the National Football Museum could not be a more fitting choice to celebrate the cities style and fresh, new talent!

The show itself will transform the iconic, Urbis building into a must-visit hot spot showcasing 30 fashion shows and playing host to 15 exhibition spaces throughout the 5-day event. Not only can you expect to see MCRFW house its usual extravaganza of catwalks and shopping, there will also be some surprises from the fabulous MCRFW team to celebrate the building of their new website and blog plus the exciting launch of MCRFW hosts!
